With offices in Swindon and Derby, our staff are able to provide our clients with in depth local knowledge and expertise in all aspects of planning, development, landscape, environmental assessments, masterplanning and urban design, heritage and architectural design.

Director / Associate Director

Location: Old Bank House, 5 Devizes Road, Old Town, Swindon, SN1 4BJ

Description:  A vacancy exists in our Swindon office for a highly motivated and suitably experienced Town Planner to operate at either Director or Associate Director level.

DPDS Consulting is a multidisciplinary practice offering the full range of professional services and you will be working with other chartered professional including surveyors, architects, landscape architects, urban designers and environmental specialists.

The successful candidate will provide advice on a range of planning topics to a variety of clients, therefore strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.  You will have an in depth working knowledge of all local planning legislation, policies and procedures.

You must be self-motivated and keen to take on extra responsibility whilst taking an active part in business development.

To apply you will have a degree and/or masters and hold full membership of the RTPI or RICS.  You will have at least five years’ post-qualification experience within either consultancy or local authority environments covering all aspects of planning.  Additionally, you will be expected to play a significant role in managing staff on a day to day basis including coaching and mentoring of more junior staff, have the ability to grow and develop business within the existing client base as well as being an experienced networker to develop new business.

We envisage the successful candidate to be someone who has long-term ambitions and the commitment and drive to quickly progress into a more senior position, eventually playing an active role within the Senior Management Team.  In return we will offer the successful candidate a competitive salary with excellent benefits including pension, permanent health care and private medical options.

Salary:  Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications
