DPDS is delighted to announce three new important appointments within its planning and architectural teams.

Rob O’Carroll joins us from Swindon Borough Council as a Principal Planner. He is a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and a graduate from Oxford Brookes University with a Masters degree in Urban Planning, which followed on from gaining an undergraduate honours degree in Geography from Bath Spa University.  Rob has over 10 years experience of working within planning industry, both in the public and private sectors and has a wide and expansive knowledge of the planning system having worked on a wide variety of developments from household projects to major residential, retail and commercial schemes including a number with both regional and national importance. He is well versed in managing planning applications and appeals; and whilst specialising predominantly in the development control side of planning he also has a strong background in policy, strategic growth, regeneration and infrastructure delivery.

Craig Pettit joined the DPDS team after graduating with a Masters in Spatial Planning from the University of the West of England.  During his degree Craig set aside time for work experience and subsequently gained valuable knowledge working with a Local Planning Authority, during a Core Strategy examination, and working alongside a Regeneration Trust, producing preliminary proposals for a housing development.  Since joining DPDS Craig has built on his knowledge base quickly, due to the range of projects that he has been concerned with. Craig hopes to continue this vast learning curve in order to achieve successful completion of his APC and full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute. Craig is particularly interested in mixed-use development and regeneration / modernisation of urban areas.

Mark Mac Donnell joins as Principal Architect.   He has worked in London, Bristol and Bath before joining DPDS as a Principal Architect at the beginning 2014. He has experience in residential projects, listed buildings, environmental design and landscape architecture.  He believes that good design gives long lasting value for the client, the occupier and the environment.  Mark has a degree in Mathematics, an MA in Property Law and Finance as well as being qualified as an Architect from the University of Bath.  Mark is also a Chartered Surveyor and lives in Bath.
