DPDS Was instructed by Williams F1 to undertake a site search for a new facility in October 1990.

A very rigorous brief was established which imposed tight locational constraints.  The site search exercise was undertaken over a number of years and involved close liaison with client, local authorities and other public bodies (including the MOD).  Several locations were examined critically until a suitable location was identified.

A feasibility study to assess the ability of new premises to accommodate business activities and uses was carried out, together with a planning and environmental audit. Negotiations with the vendor were undertaken and arrangements for a phased acquisition of the site put in place.

Planning applications were submitted for change of use of existing buildings and for a new development progressed in phases over a ten-year program of development.
