Planning permission was secured for the East of England Co-operative Society's comprehensive redevelopment of its existing foodstore at Peartree Roundabout, Stanway, a large former cash and carry warehouse. The proposals involve the development of a mixed-use centre comprising a new Co-Op foodstore, a second food retail unit, two non-food retail units, offices and a restaurant.  The proposals provide much-needed modernisation and redevelopment of local retail and service provision.The planning application was supported by comprehensive planning and retail statements as well as by an acoustic study, a transport assessment and a design statement.
